How the model works
You tell us what you run — hood count, cooking style, hours, roughly when the last service happened. We match the job with a local crew that carries the right credentials and insurance for it, and you get a free walkthrough and a firm quote before anyone schedules a truck. The work itself — the scraping, the hot-water washing, the rooftop fan teardown, the pump-outs — is performed by the companies we connect you with, on an overnight window that doesn’t cost you service hours.
What we bring to that arrangement:

Why certification is the thing we screen for
South Dakota has no state license for hood cleaners. Anyone with a pressure washer can print a flyer. NFPA 96 closes that gap by requiring the work be done by properly trained, qualified, and certified persons acceptable to the authority having jurisdiction — in this market, the Rapid City Fire Department. The recognized industry credentials are IKECA’s CECS (Certified Exhaust Cleaning Specialist) and CECT (technician), and those are what we look for in the companies we work with. We don’t hold IKECA certification ourselves and we don’t issue certificates — the crew doing your work does, and their name goes on your service report.
What you’ll never get from us

The factual version is enough: after a proper service, the crew leaves before-and-after photos, a written report, and a dated sticker on the hood — and that documentation is what fire inspectors ask to see and what insurance carriers request after an incident. We also won’t guarantee an inspection outcome. The inspection belongs to the fire department; our job is making sure the system is genuinely cleaned to bare metal and the paperwork proves it.
